The BCAC is comprised by close to 30 member associations, each representing a distinct sector of producers or growers within BC’s agricultural industry. It's the support of these organizations that enable the BCAC to act on behalf of BC farmers and ranchers, advocating for their best interests on government issues and enhancing the effectiveness of our various programs and initiatives.
Okanagan Kootenay Cherry Growers' Association
The Okanagan Kootenay Cherry Growers’ Association (OKCGA) was founded in 1998 by a small group of cherry growers who pooled their resources to increase research and development of cherry production for this rapidly growing industry. Since then, they have initiated and co-funded over 55 research projects to meet a variety of production and marketing challenges, in support of the economic viability and environmental sustainability of growers in the region. The OKCGA operates without staff in order to maximize growers’ research levies.
