The BCAC is comprised by close to 30 member associations, each representing a distinct sector of producers or growers within BC’s agricultural industry. It's the support of these organizations that enable the BCAC to act on behalf of BC farmers and ranchers, advocating for their best interests on government issues and enhancing the effectiveness of our various programs and initiatives.
BC Cranberry Growers’ Association
The BC Cranberry Growers’ Association represents one of BC’s largest berry crops by both volume and value. Eighty growers located in the fertile lower Fraser Valley and on Vancouver Island produce over 750,000 barrels (1 barrel = 100 lbs) of cranberries annually, accounting for up to about 12% of cranberry production in North America.
The BCCGA works co-operatively with university and government researchers, as well as scientists and industry associations throughout North America to discuss, identify and research production issues affecting the industry. They also provide funding support for research and grower education initiatives that promote environmentally sustainable farm practices.
